- If I see a cell phone out, you get a step. Per district rules, cell phones are to be off and in backpacks during school hours.
- Using the bathroom during class time is to be avoided at all costs. You are given passing periods, break, and lunch to take care of personal needs. The answer will often be be, "No."
- The most important thing to me is starting off the day with the right attitude--an attitude of learning, of having business to take care of in class. For that reason, I expect people not to enter my classroom until they are ready to take care of business. That means don't enter talking. As soon as you come into class, the talking needs to stop. When you come in the room, you start immediately on the posted assignment. Even if you need to ask me a question or give me a note, don't. Come in, sit down, work. You can grab me when I walk by to take care of other things.
- Upon entering the class, students get right to work on the posted assignment.
- The bell does not dismiss the class. The teacher will dismiss the class a section at a time when everything is put in order. .
- Make sure your backpack is under your seat or under your desk. Do not put it on your desk. Try to have everything out that you need so that you don't have to rummage through you backpack during class.
- I insist that my room be kept clean and students will receive a step for placing their personal trash inside the desks. If you have trash, you hold on to it and take it to the trashcan on the way out of class.
- Sharpen your pencil before the bell rings or not at all. You are supposed to have three sharpened pencils with you at all times. You may sharpen your pencil during warm-ups ONE PERSON AT A TIME. You'd be a genius if you brought your own pencil sharpener and kept it in your pencil pouch.
